Description: Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
Gonna grab some afternoon delight.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day.
And you know the night is always gonna be there any way.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
Looking forward to a little afternoon delight.
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
And the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling
A little afternoon delight.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Please be waiting for me baby when I come around.
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Repeat chorus

Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgandy: The Afternoon Delight scene
This film was made as part of the NUI Galway Quiz Society multimedia performance quiz in aid of Concern. I made this film almost 3 years ago when I was 18 while in college which explains the crappiness. Each film took about 5 hours to make in total from set building, filming and editing.

Description: Starland Vocal Band dominated American airwaves during the Bicentennial summer of 1976 with their quintessential soft rock chart-topper "Afternoon Delight."
The group emerged from the Washington, D.C. folk scene of the late '60s, its roots dating back to the formation of the acoustic duo Fat City, which comprised future husband and wife Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. They soon signed to Denver's Windsong label and in 1976 issued their self-titled debut LP, with the lead single "Afternoon Delight" quickly reaching the top of the charts on its way to helping earn the group five Grammy nominations. (They won two, including Best New Artist.)

Starland Vocal Band were an American pop band, known primarily for "Afternoon Delight", one of the biggest-selling singles in 1976.
"Afternoon Delight" is a 1976 song by the Starland Vocal Band, written by Bill Danoff, featuring close harmony and sexually suggestive lyrics. It became a number-one U.S. Billboard Hot 100 single on July 10, 1976.
Concurrent to the Starland Vocal Band's version, country singer Johnny Carver had a Top 10 version of his own on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
In the 1990s and 2000s, "Afternoon Delight" was featured in several film and television shows, albeit often in an ironic sense, such as Good Will Hunting, PCU, Boogie Nights, Starsky & Hutch, Arrested Development, The Simpsons (The Fat and the Furriest), Family Guy (in an alternate scene from the episode Stewie Kills Lois where Meg is preparing to masturbate with a pack of hot dogs), Rules of Engagement, Complete Savages, South Park and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. In 1983, The Circle Jerks also covered this song as one of the six cover versions on "Golden Shower of Hits (Jerks on 45)", which appears on their third album with the same title.
On the USA Network show Psych, the episode "Shawn Vs. The Red Phantom", Shawn Spencer mentions that "once he [ George Takei ] starts singing Afternoon Delight, he just goes to another place."
The name for the song comes from the name of a special menu of the same name at Clyde's restaurant in Georgetown.
The group began as 'Fat City', a husband/wife duo of Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert.
The band was also composed of Jon Carroll (keyboards and vocals) and Margot Chapman (vocals). Carroll and Chapman were also married after meeting as members of the group, but later divorced. They had one son, Ben Carroll, who is also a musician.
Their debut album was the self-titled Starland Vocal Band, which included "Afternoon Delight". The song was a hit, reaching #1 and the album also charted. They were nominated for five Grammy Awards and won two — Best arrangement (voices) and Best New Act. The follow-up album Rear View Mirror was a failure in comparison, although it was a minor chart entry, spending 13 weeks on the Billboard 200 (reaching a peak of #104).
The band hosted a self-titled variety show that ran on CBS for six weeks in the summer of 1977. David Letterman, then unknown, also participated in the show, as did Mark Russell, Jeff Altman, and Proctor and Bergman.
The band broke up in 1981, unable to match their previous success. Danoff and Nivert divorced shortly afterwards.
Each of the band members went on to a solo career.
As recently as 1998 Starland Vocal Band has reunited for a few concerts, often featuring the children of the four original members as vocalists. In 2007, they appeared on a 1970s special on the New Jersey Network (NJN), singing "Afternoon Delight".
Danoff and Nivert co-wrote the hit song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" with John Denver. Denver subsequently signed them to his label, Windsong Records.
