Description: Billy Idol - Eyes Without a Face (Live). Album "Rebel Yell" (1983).
Lyrics:
Im all out of hope
One more bad dream could bring a fall
When Im far from home
Dont call me on the phone
To tell me youre alone
Its easy to deceive
Its easy to tease
But hard to get release
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.
I spend so much time
Believing all the lies
To keep the dream alive
Now it makes me sad
It makes me mad at truth
For loving what was you
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.
When you hear the music you make a dip
Into someone elses pocket then make a slip.
Steal a car and go to las vegas oh, the gigolo pool.
Hanging out by the state line,
Turning holy water into wine
Drinkin it down
Im on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books tryin to stay hip.
Im thinkin of you youre out there so
Say your prayers.
Say your prayers.
Say your prayers.
Now I close my eyes
And I wonder why
I dont despise
Now all I can do
Is love what was once
So alive and new
But its gone from your eyes
Id better realise
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Les yeux sans visage eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.
Such a human waste your eyes without a face
And now its getting worse.

 | Shirley Bassey MY WAY & THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE OF MY LIFE
Tags: and, anka, barrel, bassey, BGO, decca, lock, paul, records, shirley, stock
Description: The 1974 BBC-Shirley Bassey show. Part 6 (Last part): It is amazing to see the BBC-shows and what they made Shirley do: she sang in planes, boats, cars, rockets airballoons on waterskis, on a horse and even on a tandem.
About the dress Dame Shirley Bassey is wearing for this show:
A black evening gown comprising: a bias cut stage gown with low-cut back and fitted bodice with spaghetti straps, the black gauze ground embroidered over all with black sequins, the neckline inset with black net, labelled inside Loris Azzaro Paris;
Dame Shirley wore the Loris Azzaro gown during a BBC. Television special, 1974. The album illustrated - I Am What I Am, Towerbell Records, 1984 - also shows her wearing this dress on the cover. Final Price. Sold at Christies £3,200
Lyrics My way:
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which Im certain.
I've lived a life thats full.
I've traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.
I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.
For what is a woman, what has she got?
If not herself, then she has naught.
To say the things she truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!
The Greatest Performance Of My Life
Sometimes also entitled:
Tonight I Gave The Greatest Performance Of My Life
Written by Roberto 'Sandro' Sánchez / Oscar Petri Anderle.
English lyrics by Robert I. Allen.
Released on the 1972 album I Capricorn and on a single. The album has been re-released digitally remastered on CD and additionally this song is available on the CD collections The Greatest Hits - This Is My Life (European release) and Bassey - The EMI/UA Years 1959 - 1979.
Shirley Bassey has performed this song live on some concerts and shows which is always very emotional. You can see that her eyes must be filled with tears at the end of the song. A live performance has been released on Live In Japan '77 and on the 1995 video An Audience With Shirley Bassey.
The Argentinean composer team Sandro / Anderle have written more than 100 songs together, and I assume that this was originally one of their many Spanish compositions (obviously from 1968). Sandro is an Argentinean pop balladist. He was born Roberto Sánchez in 1945. He was successful not only in Argentina as singer, song-writer and later also as actor.
Robert Allen translated the song to English. He is a pop composer who worked much together with lyricist Al Stillman. I don't know how the original Spanish title was, before the translation.
This song had been sung in English by Nancy Wilson on an album 1971, but I don't know if the song has been translated for her, or if anyone else has performed it in English before her.
Lyrics The greatest performnace of my life:
Tonight I gave the greatest performance of my life
I never lost control,
I played the part so well
That not a single soul could tell that I was lying
And so though it was hard to face our friends
I gave a party
I know I meant to show them all
I've gotten over you
And though I saw the unbelieving looks on all their faces
I had to try to make them think that it was true
So I who hardly dance,
danced through the night,
just like a gypsy
And I who seldom drink,
drank like a fish till I was high
And I who hadn't laughed since God knows when,
out laughed Pagliacci
Till they believed it more than even I
Tonight I gave the greatest performance of my life
I never lost control,
I played the part so well
That not a single soul could tell that I was lying
But love if you had been behind the curtain when it fell
When all the lights were out and I was all alone
You would have seen this actress crying
Yes, tonight I gave the greatest performance of my life
I never lost control,
I played the part so well
That not a single soul could tell that I was lying
But love if you had been behind the curtain when it fell
When all the lights were out and I was all alone
You would have seen this actress crying

 | Brotherhood Pete McGonagle: Eyes Without A Face
Tags: BillyIdol, Brotherhood, Isaacs, Jason, JasonIsaacs, McGonagle, MichaelCaffee, Paskoski, Pete, PeteMcGonagle, Stivi, StiviPaskoski
Description: PLEASE RATE This is a character study of Pete from the Showtime series "Brotherhood". Since Michael's return Pete is struggling with his conscience which makes his struggle with alcoholism & drugs even harder. He does bad things for Michael then deals with the guilt by turning to those old habits. This character intrigues me and I credit that with actor Stivi Paskoski's EXCELLENT portrayal of a haunted man trying so hard to beat his demons. Jason Isaacs, as Michael, is as usual, great in his role. The relationship these two men have is interesting - neither one really has any other friends. As much as Michael tries to help Pete beat his demons, he's just as much the cause. If you haven't seen the show - Season 1 is on DVD and Season 2 is coming in 2007 on Showtime - catch it. :)
