The comments being posted are very interesting to me. When I recorded this, I never envisioned that
1- I would ever be putting it on-line
2- that more people would view it then were actually at the event
3- the hot and cold responses on the performance
Personally, I enjoy Aerosmith. I think Steven Tyler is an entertainer. For me, he is one of the best front men in ways of showmanship, vocal talent and energy to his craft in the music business. However, I have to admit that I cringe through his performances of the American national anthem.
It was a novelty to see him perform it at a New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox's games, a nightmare during the Indianapolis 500 and tolerable during this charity event.
The American National Anthem is a very hard song to sing. For me, as talented and versatile as I think Steven Tyler is in most every song he sings, I think he needs to retire singing the American national anthem.
