It was in 2006 that our family holiday took us to Normandy, France and I could not pass up the chance to visit the area that was supposed to resemble the little part of Devon that is Slapton Sands. With humble recognition to Steven Spielberg and the fantastic music of John Williams this is my tribute to those that paid the ultimate price for everything we now hold so dear.

He was "just messing around for fun," completely unaware that what he was creating would ultimately be the staple song from his next album. STAY WITH LIONEL !! Lets look at what a little fish gravel and a pile of old curbside ceiling tile...( Which later would become scenery)... some plaster, coupled with a little imagination will do. ...* Heres a clip of Tom and Scott`s layout... These are "O" Scale trains, ... Anyway, it took 40+ years to amass all this "stuff", for this 30 x 45` layout... Tom loves to lash up 4 or 5 engines and will pull trains way in excess of 100 scale cars long (thats 17+ inches of coupler slack, and trains in excess of 170-200 feet long!) Note he made the walls round (no corners) to conform to its outer 0192 degree radius. In this video, at the beginning, You`ll see Tom when he was just 6, getting his 1st Train set, Then later you`ll see how far he took it ( As it took 53 4x8 sheets of plywood to construct this layout!) ... and the time to build ?: 8 months... (just him). NOT years like most others say! You know..."ah God, ah god" in a "babbling rant"....... :) We built this so ANY Train can go up or down any level and run on another track, or ski`diddle into the yard,... again, from ANY track... there are 9 trains running at once most of the time. Not seen are many tunnels and places where more trains go. Smoke from the Trains comes from a liquid, which is inserted into each engine by means of a small funnel. No annoying "TCA" or "Club" had anything to do with this, We model no particular railroad either... So if CSX and the NS, (or whatever) are "at war"... and this is`nt "prototypical" , We don`t care!. IF its big and can pull... "we get it"!! We model "FUN"! Once I was great supporter of MTH, But.. Put simply, "They don`t giv`a dam"!! They treat you like crap and opinion`s are many.... MINE however, is that you support someone else! Someone who cares about their customer`s!! Now, a word about club`s / group`s... please don`t miss understand me, "clubs" have a place in our hobby... But more often then not , members turn "anal" and bitter when they try`in coexist... "WHY"?? The question then begs... "why can`t it be we just all enjoy Trains" ? These putz`s ruin things more often then not, and we steer clear of them. Were also proud to say that this layout was featured in "Classic Toy Trains" Magazine, "our`s is about fun" NOT "schedules too keep, or some "ridiculous way bill" they`ll tell ya you need BEFORE a Train can move" ... Tom`s an auto tech, who say`s to his customer`s: "Bring me the trains, no bill spanking pains" or... (keep your money & just find your old trains in lieu of payment) NO PLANS WERE USED TO DO ANY OF THIS... I HATE PLANS!! "We Just Have fun with the thing and let it go" So their you are... No Rocket science where you must spend thousands of dollars on "REAL" crushed ballast, or the like, + expensive scenery, trees etc... "thats alot of crapola!! See many others here on You Tube whom are far better than us, AND THEIR ARE! BUT generate interest in the hobby!! & NEVER say : "Man I could never do that"! You could feel the tension among the commentators of CNBC as they tried to cover it up without being obvious. After two minutes of very uncomfortable live TV, the host made a statement claiming that view in no way reflected the views and opinion of CNBC. 	We Love you Baby... Tags: baby, boy, grief, memorial, son Description: sensitive content This is my beautiful son. We will never forget you... He will always be loved. He died from a number of birth defects beleived to be brought on by Amniotic Band Syndrome and Trisomy 18. I continued my pregnancy and he passed in utero in early November. When I went in on November 8th, 2006 for an ultrasound it was discovered that he was gone. I was devestated and I know that was the worst moment of my life. I went in to be induced immediately and he was born on November 9th, at 0240 in the morning. He was 97 grams and six inches long. He was just so corageous for being such a tiny little thing. He held on so long for his Mommy and Daddy! He is our hero and we have learned so much from him about love, life, ourselves and the world around us. What an amazing impact he has had for someone who never got to say a word to us! We love you so much Sweetheart and we will hold you in our hearts forever! The letter I read to him at his funeral: "Dear David, You are Mommy's precious angel. The moment you were born was a peaceful and sacred moment between us. It was so quiet. There were no nurses or doctors or bright lights or struggling cries. Your daddy was asleep on the couch right next to you. It was then that I hesitated because I knew that I had just created a little miracle of God and at that moment I would be closer to you than I ever could be again. You were so tiny and so fragile but it would never be mistaken that you were ours. You will never leave your Mommy and Daddy's hearts. No matter how many years pass by you will always be alive in our hears and we will never fail to love you in any moment that passes by. Thank you so much, David. It is because of you that I get to know how much love a Mother can have for her baby boy. It is because of you that I can know how important any child is in the eyes of God. You are our son and you left to soon but now I don't have to worry about where you are because I know that for how much you have tugged on my heart that God loves you more than I ever could and He is keeping you close to him right now. I will forever long for the day when I will get to hug you for the first time. The days seem to be too long because you are not around. There are so many things around the house that remind me of you. Your Daddy and I were so excited to tell everyone we knew that you were on your way. We never could have guessed that you would struggle as you did. Never again in my life will I ever meet another person as strong-willed as you. You didn't give up until you had to and I will always look up to that lesson you taught me on the hardest days. I wish I could have met you but at the same time I'm so glad that you are where you are. I realized as I was holding you that you were an answer to my prayers. When I found out that you were sick I prayed to God that He would help you fight or that He would lead you to Heaven but that you would not suffer unless you had to. It was then that your Mommy got very sad. I am so sorry that I am not happier for you. I'm so in love with you that now you are gone all I want is to have you back here in my arms again. I guess that is why they say that grief is selfish. I will never forget the moments I've shared with you and I know that even though you are in a much happier place that you will never forget your Mommy and Daddy who long to be where you are right now.
